Here can get quite busy at the weekends with most of the tourists coming from Sheffield and surrounding areas, there is ample car parking spaces and enough local shops, pubs and tea shops to keep every one entertained and served.
Bakewell is dominated by a beautiful river running through the center, in the photos on my pages you can see this and the old style bridge crossing the river. Here you can take a short leasurly stroll, have a sit down and feed the ducks or just simply watch the fish.
Bakewell is not a place where you will be dashing around, just take your time and relax there.
- Pros:Close to other nice places.
- Cons:Can be a little busy atthe weekends.
- In a nutshell:You got to try the pudding.

This looks an interesting town for a stroll around, love the old bridge, great for reflections!
Your street scenes are gorgeous Soul!! Definately looks like my kinda place. Thanx for sharing :o) Cheers, Ann.
What a nice picture, so natural with people gossiping and getting on with life.
The Well Dressing is very pretty. I bet is smells good too. It is hard to believe it is made of flowers. Is there a recipe for the Bakewell pudding?
Such an inter4esting place. I wonder if you have the only Bakewell page on VT.
I had to come back for another serving of the Bakewell Pudding!
Excellent town! I love the idea of afternoon tea and the landscape views are lovely. Taking a few puddings and tarts out to the scenic drive would make for a wonderful afternoon! (Does that sound slightly pornographic to anyone else?)
Great landscapes, and the bridge is lovely. :-)
I should've visited Bakewell! I made it to Buxton and Castleton but somehow missed this delightful sounding place! Oh well, an excuse to return to the area ;-)
must visit one day and try those puddings!
