Maschu Maschu: The best falafel in town

Restaurant Name: Maschu Maschu
It is very small place with only few tables and Israely food.
Favorite Dish: I have tried falafel for the first time here and it became one of my favorite dishes. I usually take falafel pita which is kind of roll (small bread) filled with different kinds of vegetables and falafel (small balls made of chickpeas). It is delicious and contains no meat! I pour over large quantities of curry and chilli sauce. Mmmm. :) Falafel pita costs 3 EUR.

Pizza bizi: Great slices of pizza

Restaurant Name: Pizza bizi
There are 4 restaurants of pizza bizi in Vienna, but my favorite is Rottenturmstrasse 4, just about 100 m from Stephansplatz towards Schwedenplatz. It is kind of fast food/self service restaurant although food is quite good. Usually you take food by yourself and pay at cash desk. Exception is pizza which you get at pizza oven - if you want a quarter of pizza you get it at once while you have to order whole pizza.
Favorite Dish: I was usually taking quarter of pizza. Vienna is not great place for pizzas but I find this pizza quite good. It is also quite inexpensive for Vienna - 2.2 EUR/quarter. And quarter of pizza is not that small.

Tunnel: Fine food in jazz club

Restaurant Name: Tunnel
Tunnel is certainly one of my favorite places in Vienna. It is located in Josefstadt district, pretty appealing place of Vienna. It is kind of the students/backpackers place and also jazz/blues club. Food as well as drinks are inexpensive for Vienna standards, i.e. pizza is 5 to 7 EUR. In the basement of Tunnel there is club where you can listen to live music. It is really nicely arranged with tables settled so that you always sit looking towards stage. On Sunday they have free jazz concerts while on the other days there can be admission - check in their monthly programme. Certainly worth visiting!
Favorite Dish: Vegetarian (and few vegan) dishes are marked on their menu so it was easy for me to order. They have quite decent pasta and pizzas and other dishes. Recommended.

Restaurant Name: Stammersdorf Heurigen
Heurigen or wine taverns are places where you can drink and buy wine. You can recognize them by green bunch of grapes sign. They are of different sizes, although most that I have visited were quite large. They are excellent places for larger companies. Almost every house near Stammersdorfer Strasse is Heurigen. It is also interesting to explore small road to the right after the end of Stammersdorfer Strasse. Once a year there are wine days in Stammersdorf and main road is changed in pedestrian zone. There are thousands of people there and a biiig party with all kinds of music, from popular music to jazz. During late summer and autumn check for most (grape juice, no alcohol) or sturm (a little older grape juice that is slowly turning into wine, contains some alcohol).
Favorite Dish: Heurigen are not great place for vegetarians, but you can always find something, like apple strudel or cheese with various breads. Meet eaters seem to like cold meats. Anyhow, good places for wine and talk.
