free yourself from the tourist traps I understand that when you make a trip to Chicago there are certain sites that you must see. I have been to all of them as well, but because I live here I think that it would be more appropriate if I concentrated on the off the wall hard to find things that only people that know the city truly know enough about to report on.
This page is going to concentrate on the non-touristy yet cool places that Chicago and its burbs have to offer.
I will be trying to capture the true essence and the in's & out's while mixing in some of the odd things that truly make this city what it is.
I will be concentrating on the unusual things that might be a little hard to find fun for the adventurous/off the wall travelers such as myself.
I promise you that if you follow my tips, you will know what its like to experience the things that the other tourists and most locals not have an idea about. This web page is dedicated to the Urban explorer in order to give them an idea what its like to not be a tourist and be able to gauge what its like to be someone living here that happens to be "in the know" in terms of his city. |

jo104 Mon Apr 27, 2009 13:28 UTC Definetly some different ideas here thanks for sharing them - Hi from London | Marisola Sun Mar 16, 2008 17:23 UTC Nice tips on Chicago. I'd like to try the steaks the size of tires! | mickichi Tue Sep 5, 2006 18:53 UTC I love your description. It's hilarious as well as acurate. I'm just sad that you didn't describe the OUT TO LUNCH room. It has a bed that is in the shape of an actual sandwich complete with faux bread, lettuce, tomato and cheese, etc. ....FIRST CLASS ;D | Mwalus Tue Oct 25, 2005 22:03 UTC Hey Mike. I was reading your rest. reviews. My family used to own Krapil's. It's loc. at 111th & Ridgeland and has quite a bit more than just meat on the menu. Try the combo for an app, the French Roquefort dressing salad and a T-bone. Best in Chicago. |
