"Nazerat 'Illit" Nazerat `Illit by Ilya_Andriy

This is a 44,000 city near Nazareth. In 1957 the Jewish settlements around old Nazareth (a muslim-christian city) started, and the development town of Nazareth 'Illit officially established in 1962. The city has attracted new immigrants from Eastern Europe since the 1970s.
During the present decade, Nazareth Illit has grown considerably, with about one third of its residents new immigrants from the Former Soviet Union.

The city has no tourist interest (in my opinion, due to its young story), but offers unique observation points overlooking sites of historical and holy significance for both Christianity and the Islam. Vantage points for a superb view of the Jezrael Valley, Netofa Valley, Mount Tabor and the Lower Galilee are conveniently accessed. And you may find a wide variety of activities: pedestrian tours to magnificent sites, donkey ride tours, jeep tours, bird-watching points and many other possibilities with very convenient weather.

Nazerat 'Illit functions as the center for industry, commerce and public utilities for all the settlements in the region.

Industry is the heart and lung of the city and what made me arrive to this place. About fifty percent of local employees are employed in industry.
