2006 - Motorcycle tour to Portugal | Cabo de Sao Vicente as seen from Ponta de Sagres |
Portugal is a charming land soaked with history. In some areas it's common to feel as if the clock had stopped long ago and I had first experienced this feeling during my three-month stay on a job assignment. Nice people and excellent food can be found most everywhere throughout the nation, which is one among the least industrially developed countries in western Europe. A positive fact in my personal opinion, as at times we should try to get rid of our common "too-much, too-fast" lifestyle. From vast dry areas to the moist of the coastal beauty, breathtaking sights accompany the journey through the changing climate and temperatures. The interior can be extremely hot in summer while the oceanside yields a pleasant comfort. A few mountain ranges can be the perfect destination for hikes and quiet resting. Whether it's a day at the beach, a city walk through amazing architecture or among the dolmen and cromlech stones erected millennia ago, when not feasting on delicious local cuisine, Portugal has always something different and new to discover! |
