Squeezed in between France, Belgium and Germany, its official languages are French and German. Known for its financial activities, this small country has a nice capital and some interesting corners to discover although buildings are quite sober and not as old as what found in neighboring countries. The historical core of Luxembourg City is the UNESCO listed Bock, a rock ideally located for defensive purposes where remnants of the medieval castle dominate the Petrusse river.

As part of our 2009 cycling tour, we rode from Luxembourg City to Schengen, where the agreement for border-free circulation among European countries was signed in 1985. Pleasant ride through a lush gorge and countryside landscapes down to the Mosel river that marks a portion of the border with Germany.
