  • The construction of this unique Temple began in 1882. As you can see, it's still under construction, won't be finished in the next 20 years. At present eight of the twelve bell towers of the facade, dedicated to the Apostles and having a height exceeding 100 metres, are already built. The four belfries yet to be built are those of the Facade of Glory, the 170-metre central dome in honour of Jesus Chris, The Tower of the Virgin Mary (125m) and the Tower of the 4 Evangelists. Wish to go back after it complete.

It's the most popular touristic spot in Barcelona, you will find there is always a long queue at the entrance. Open time: Oct-Mar 9am-18pm, Apr-Sep 9am-20pm, close at Dec.25th, 26th, Jan.1st and the afternoon of 6th.

  • Follow the tourist guide record.. would lead you to the exhibition of Gaudi's work.. i don't quite understand how does those hanging "sacht" work. but it's still nice to see..

You will find there are many waving shape in Gaudi's work.. he loves nature.. his works are inspired by natural stuff.. like shell, or sea waves... you get to see the pix showing that..

the more you see.. the more you understand.. the more you admire his genius..

    Palau Guell: Parc Guell

  • Gaudi was originally commissioned to build a sixty domiciles for Eusebio Guell, the greatest patron of him. But at last it was only two houses accomplished. There are many small sinuous pathway and unique mosaic sculptures spread in the park. The lizard becomes to be the symbol of Parc Guell. The flat roof was built as a dance square for burgraves... grab a great view of Park Guell and Barcelona city from the curving mosaic bench is the best way to relax.

No exception of Sagrada Familia... you will find many inspiration from the nature were presented in this Gaudi's work. The house look like made of gingerbread.. beautiful coloredl mosaic makes the whole place a wonderland.

  • you may see this a lot as a typical photo shot for the unique lane in Parc Guell..

The pink house used to be Gaudi's residence on a stage. A bit surprised to find out it wasn't built by himself but Francesc Berenguer in 1904. Gaudi lived here from 1906 to 1926. It contains original works by Gaudi and by several of his closest collaborators. In 1969 it was declared a historical-artistic Monument of national interest. The Casa-Museu Gaudi was founded in 1963 by the "Amics de Gaudi".Visiting hours: October-March 10-18 hours. April-September 10-20 hours.
----- information collected from the direction of Casa Museu..

Parc Guell locates on a hill land in Gracia district.. you may get a great view on different heights...

  • It's called Spanish village with different style of houses and architecture from different parts of Spain. Full of small lanes and yard. Many local craft shops where you can find tradionally made Spanish goods and artworks by local artists.

It's nice to wander around the area... or have a rest in the cafe beside the plaza..

  • Our hotel is very near the beach.. I went jogging one morning. it was a beautiful coastline.. built nicely with jogging and cycle alleys. lovely sunshine with breeze.. Many locals were fishing on the reef coast... I even saw a young couple were still cuddly sleeping on an airbed... they must had a nice dream with the gentle wave sound. :)

The pix where taken at Port Vell. it's the marina area right cross the road of Monument Colon. Where you will find the famous Rambla on the Sea (Rambla del Mar).

  • Another fancy creation by Gaudi. It was designed for Aristocrat Senor Batillo. It locates on Passeig de Gracia, as street as La Padrera. I didn't get time to enter.. we passed the building twice.. but they closed early. our lost.. hmm.. we ran to it on the way to Casa Mila.. the breakthtaking facade caught our eyes easily.. different sizes windows with little balconies in strange shape.. reminds me cartoon show.. some small creature fighting with the evil shark.. when shark open its mouth trying to eat him.. the small fella put a stick in his mouth.. then he was saved... :)) hehe..
