The hidden treasure

This tasty small island is located on southern corner of Toscan Archipelago. 50km to Elba and 15km from the mainland.. It took us 45 mins to reach the island from mainland. Giglio is not as famous as Elba hence a little less touristy... Depends on when you will visit there, it could be also packed by ppl from close regions in summer or weekends. We were there at the end of September... It was kind of low season but the weather was still pretty nice. We spent two sunny afternoon on the beach.. it was quite lovely with adequate crowd... the restaurants we have tried at the port were both fantastic.. People are very friendly and willing to communicate... Afterall, we enjoyed our stay on Giglio very much...

Unspoiled nature with crystal emerald water

The island, situated in the centre of the Tyrrhenian Sea, hides in its interior a ‘hidden treasure’. The tourists, thanks to its mild climate, are able to enjoy a holiday full of surprises during any season, at close contact with pure and unspoiled nature, which is not easy to come by elsewhere.

Nature friendly

seagull, an italian one

There are many birds inhabited around the island. Unfortuately we saw a poor seagull with one broken wing stumbled around the rocky coast searching for food.. We reported to the local policeman, he referred us to the natural guard ppl.. The guy told us they were aware of the situation and the bird is under observation. The bird is still young so the broken bone will be fixed by itself soon. If they found out the bird could not manage the situation well they will transfer it to somewhere else to be taken care of before recovery. Nice to hear.. and Thanks to Al.. :)
