Portofino

heaven for the rich and famous
Portofino is one of the most popular seaside resorts in the Italian Riviera and was the favorite of the rich and famous during its 1950s heyday.

Portofino is a beautiful village of pastel colored houses surrounding a half-moon shaped harbor lined with shops, restaurants, cafes, and luxury hotels. Castello Brown sits atop the hill overlooking the village. Portofino's crystalline green waters are great for swimming, diving, and boating. There are also opportunities for hiking in the area.

Portofino can be reached by ferry from Santa Margherita Ligure, Rapallo, Camogli, and Genoa. The closest train stations are in Santa Margherita Ligure, where there's a bus to Portofino from the station, and in Camogli.

stroll along the beautiful marina

Charming marina

Portofino has become as one of the famous and expensive tourist spot in Italy. I have never heard of it before someone came into my life.. it was one of his favourite.. Though now he's long gone.. I felt I gotta see this place by myself..

It turned out to be breathtakingly beautiful.. We made our way like many others, a easy bus ride from Santa Margherita Ligure train station.. once I reach the marina.. I understand it worths for all the way from the other part of world.. :)
pretty couple

fancy boutiques vs. beautiful people

The town itself is quite small and delicate. Along the small cobbly alleys, it's never lack of little boutique stores.. Beautiful people are everywhere.. this pretty couple caught everyone's eye.. Guess in the summer peak season, my eyes would be a lot busier.. :)
