The town lies on the small, narrow peninsula. Famous for its great history, it is also a place that attracts tourists like a magnet. One of relics of Porec is the Bishop Eufrazije's Basilica from 6th century, who knows maybe the most important monument of Bisantium art in Europe. Golden mosaics in the church made the town known as the "Town of the mosaics".
