Cascais is a lovely town near Lisbon, actually one of the most attractive resorts on the capital's coastline. If you are in Lisbon the best way to go there, if you don’t have a car, is by train. At Cais do Sodré station you take the Line of Cascais and this lovely town is just at the end of the line.
You will enjoy beautiful beaches and interesting buildings like the Municipal Museum and the 16th-century Fort of Cascais known as the Cidadela. Cascais is a place of famous and rich people who spend their vacations and lives there.
Lisboa is the capital of Portugal and lies on the north bank of the Tagus Estuary, on the European Atlantic coast.
It is the westernmost city in continental Europe.
Greater Lisboa has an area of approximately 1,000 km2. The city lies more or less in the centre of the country, approximately 300 km from the Algarve in the south and 400 km from the northern border with Spain.
Lisboa offers a wide variety of options to the visitor, including beaches, countryside, mountains and areas of historical interest only a few kilometres away from the city centre.
Take a look to my Lisbon page for additional information.
The mountain (St. Luzia), the Lima river and the Atlantic sea all meet in the district of Viana do Castelo! I am sure you will love it!

I spent just a day in Marvão but it worth the visit.
It is a small village at a top of peak (Serra do Sapoio - 800 e 860 metros) surrounded of a great wall. What a great view we have from there.
Take a look to my Marvão page for additional information.

Óbidos is a picturesque small town of the Leiria district. The narrow streets, the white houses with yellow or blue stripes make it a special and a beautiful town.
In the top of the hill there is a Moorish castle, with a great view.
Take a look to my Óbidos page for additional information.
Address: Obidos - Leiria District
My July 2008 vacations were great, a 6 days cruise in Douro river and it was so beautiful, if you come to visit Portugal don’t miss this kind of trip. The Douro's valley is amazing!
The Douro vinhateiro is an area of the Douro Valley in Portugal that was classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Patrimony Sight. These reaches of the Douro have a microclimate allowing for cultivation of olives, almonds, and especially grapes important for making the famous Port wine, so... don't forget to taste the fabulous Porto wine ;-)
Estoril it is located not far from Lisbon and its surroundings offer a rich variety of cultural and leisure activities. You will find the largest casino in Europe and if you like Golf you will have a selection of seven 18 hole courses within the Estoril-Sintra area, including the Palácio’s renowned Estoril course just 1 km away.
Estoril coast is host to many international events such as the Portugal Golf Tour, the Estoril Open, the World Windsurfing championships and international car racing at the Estoril Autodrome.
Beja is a lovely town located in the Baixo Alentejo region. It is a place with a great history founded by Julius Caesar. I was there just a few hours but enough to explore the beautiful 14th century castle and wander around the beautiful cobbled streets.
And, I almost forgot to say about the great lunch I had there on a restaurant nearby the castle where I ate the traditional Alentejano meal. Don’t miss!
Address: Baixo Alentejo
What can I say of the lovely ancient walled town of Évora?
I just spent a couple of hours there but was enough to see why Évora is a Unesco site. I managed to see some precious buildings like the Diana temple, which is Corinthian-style Roman temple is popularly believed to have been dedicated to the goddess Diana. I visited also beautiful cathedral and walked by the beautiful alleys that surrounded it.
Évora is located in Alentejo region and it is about 62 km west of the Spanish border. Well, I have to return there for sure because it has lots to see!
Address: Alentejo region
You will find in Algarve region, great beaches with warm water and a great nightlife.
