Bragança

by ncfg - last update: Apr 22, 2005

Bragança is a beautiful town located in the Transmontana region (interior northern of Portugal) with a medieval castle and surrounded by a well preserved walls.

From the set of the walls that compose the fortress with 15 towers, you take a special attention to the princess’s tower, according to tradition the prison tower of a princess loved by a troubadour.

Inside the walls you will find the Domus Municipalis, a unique example of civic Romanesque architecture.
Lovely streets and beautiful houses and churches you will admire there, mainly the beautiful Cathedral from 16th century.
Beside the beautiful historical monuments you will enjoy a great nightlife with pubs and cafes.
