Chaves is a beautiful town located in the Transmontana region (interior northern of Portugal).
I went there twice, but the first time was a long time ago and it was at night. This year I returned there and I enjoyed its beauty with the daylight.
The Roman bridge crossing the river Tâmega, the 14th century castle houses, the forts of São Francisco and São Neutel , the mother-church , and the Misericórdia Church are worthy of a visit.
Walking on the beautiful streets you can appreciate the original windows of the houses. Don’t miss!!! |
