Well, I must describe my fabulous trip to Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain of mainland Portugal.
I will begin to tell you that when you go to some place without any plans to go there, it is the best travel you will have.
It was what happened to me, I planed to go to enjoy the Carnival in Mealhada with hotel booked in Luso, place near Mealhada, but …. well, Sunday, 22 of February, when we came there it started raining a lot, bad luck, the famous carnival parade was cancelled and what we did, we called to a hotel in Manteigas (Serra da Estrela) and we were luck. |
And we went to spend three great days on Serra da Estrela with snow. If you want to know what happened next, follow me through my tips, come on …. |

Such lovely buildings and stunning scenery. | global84 Tue Aug 8, 2006 22:16 UTC I've been to Guarda, too, to see its Sé. It was astonishing; I couldn't believe how it would have been like to build it for 150 years! But it was a great, rather relaxing trip overall, except those 40 minutes that I got lost my way! LOL | CALSF Sun Feb 12, 2006 02:22 UTC You're right and I forgot about Serra da Estrela being so high that it snows. I wish you a nice weekend also. |
