| | Lisbon is the Capital of Portugal; this beautiful town is built in a succession of terraces up the slopes of a range of low, 7 rolling hills, which rise from the banks of the river Tagus (Tejo).
Sections of the city vary considerably in height, especially in the older areas along the waters border, offering splendid views of the river and the low cliffs that line the rivers southern shore. |
Even with the modern changes, Lisbon, in many ways, retains the air of a 19th-century city. Some areas still retain the old structures of Muslim and medieval origin. It has lots of monuments to admire and historic places to visit; a great way to do it is by tram (Electrico) and by train, don't miss it!!!!
And don't forget to enjoy the "fado"and the famous Ginginha, a kind of cherry’s liqueur! | | |
