~*~*~* Greek beach life ~*~*~*

I enjoyed a weeks holiday here in the summer of 2003. The main beach in malia is the place to be in the daytime although it dosen't really kick off until about mid-day , if you are up before mid-day you probably did not try hard enough the night before! There are about 10-15 beach bars offering all the usual stuff , Breakfasts , lunch , quick snacks , ice-creams and ice cold drinks. One of the best places for watersports , You name it - banana boats , ringos , jet ski's , paracending and pedalos (all a bit pricey though so save the euro's). There is a brilliant atmosphere at the beach. The music is banging out of which ever bar you decide to sit in front of. Check out the website for all the information you need - www.malia.co.uk

Malia nightlife is one of the best i've experienced so far , the malia club scence is massive , There are 15 night clubs in malia - all 15 are open until 6am , there are lots of bars etc. The food here is fantastic , wheteher you'd like traditional greek food , indian cuisine , chinese , italian , english , macdonalds .... they have everything. Food is pretty reasonable here , you always get your moneys worth as the greeks have large portions of everything. www. malia.co.uk

I'm going to take you away from the holiday and tell you a bit about the greek culture. The greeks are very religious people , they look after they're home ground and are very proud of the country they live in (hence why the place is so beautiful). Like most hot countries they do have a siesta from mid-day until around 3pm , Even in the hot climate of june the greek women are still processing food in the fields wearing thick cotton head scarfs . Even though the greeks are laid back in they're culture the country is so well kept and the people are very friendly.
