"My last visit to Liverpool" a Liverpool Travel Page by stedeb

Having been born in Liverpool but moving to Australia as a child it is always interesting to go back to see what has changed. We last visited in November 2002 which isn't the ideal time to visit especially for someone who hates the cold!!!! Fortunately everyone and everywhere has the heating up so high it feels like you have never left home anyway!!!!!
Going so close to Christmas gives you a buzz to see it just like in the movies!!!! All the shops have the decorations up, everyone is rugged up for the cold and it is dark by 4pm, so unlike here in Perth.
My daughter who is 23 and never been before to the UK got a buzz from walking around the Heritage market on Sunday morning and listening to the market sellers advertising their wares.
The pubs are differant to ours much smaller and more inviting either that or I was bought up on far too much Coronation ST!!!!! The down side to fthe pubs is most of them are so smoky you can barely breath, we somehow managed to bear that and tried out several of the locals!!!!
From what my daughter can remember she can highly recomend good old Yates in Bootle along with The Merton of course there are several she can't remember but I will blame my cousins for that.
If you enjoy soccer a trip to Liverpool Football Club is a good day out and of course there is a huge merchanidse store for any shopping you may want to do.
