I booked a 1 bedroom apartment in December to share with my sister in law and 19 yr old neice. We had a great room basic hotel style room plus a bedroom with a queen size bed and ensuite we were very pleased with the room, location & price. However I booked the same room same price for my mother and in laws to share for 6 nights while in Sydney my in laws are over from the UK. They arrived last night at 11pm to be put in a room with 2 beds and 1 bathroom to share. When my husband rang the reception to query he was told I had been upgraded in December that came as news to me!!!!! If I had known I had been upgraded I would never of booked a married couple(68 & 70) and single lady (68) to share 1 room and bathroom. The duty manager tried to blame us by saying if they choose to check in at 11pm!!! unfortunately that is the time the flight arrives from Perth as the hotel were well aware as it is written on their booking sheet, we also took this flight in December !!! they then tried to say it was our fault for not phoning to confirm the room and facilites. My husband asked why we were not told we were upgraded their reply was most people are happy to be upgraded. They could not grasp that was not the issue. the issue for us is I booked that room in good faith assuming they would get the same room totally unaware of the upgrade. The manager also stated there ae pictures of all the rooms on needtoescape.com so you can make a choice this is not the case there are only 2 rooms displayed and none have 2 beds in one room neither does asiarooms.com The only suggestion they have made is that they will upgrade them on Tuesday when the hotel empies out. I would of thought as a gesture of goodwill they may of put my mother in a studio for a few days until they could upgrade apparently there is no goodwill at this hotel the duty manager was rude and continually stated it is hotel policy!!!!
Unique Qualities: The only solution they have come up with is that they will upgrade them on Tuesday when the hotel empies out. I would of thought as a gesture of goodwill they may of put my mother in a studio for a few days until they could upgrade apparently there is no goodwill at this hotel the duty manager was rude and continually stated it is hotel policy!!!! I would not recomend this hotel. As you can imagine the parents were very upset & disappointed after I had praised these rooms so much. I only hope this is not how they treat all their overseas guests especailly old age pensioners!!!!i Good rooms bu the management are not helpful.
