Hook Lighthouse and Ferns, Co. Wexford. - County Wexford

Ah well, Wexford got as far as the semi-finals in the All-Ireland Hurling last year... so maybe this year will be their year! (For more on hurling check out my 'sports tips'.)

Besides a liking for sport, Wexford is a very beautiful county (and apparently the only one in Ireland able to grow strawberries!). It is known as part of the sunny south east.

Trivia: The saying 'By Hook or by Crook', comes from 2 lighthouses in the south of Ireland - Hook Lighthouse in Wexford and Crook Lighthouse in county Waterford. Sailors would say that they'd arrive in Ireland 'by Hook or by Crook'.

This is supposed to be the most haunted house in Ireland. It is just near Hook Lighthouse. It is currently vacant, and believe me, standing there and taking the picture, it did feel a bit eerie
