"A N T W E R P" Antwerp by Marpessa

Antwerp was an unplanned stop for me. I was travelling in the Netherlands (and had been in Belgium beforehand - and was flying out of Brussels) for a few days with a friend of mine, and he suggested a quick look at Antwerp before me going on to Brussels for my onward flight.

So I spent a couple of hours here on a cold Sunday morning in December, but I enjoyed every moment.

I'm very happy that we did stop here, and even though I only got a glimpse it seems like beautiful city.

The main square was particularly picturesque with this statue, all the grand buildings around it and stalls set up for the Christmas season of 2007.

Next time I am in Belgium I definitely want to see more of Antwerp (I think I say that of most places I visit briefly - but it's true! :) )
