My arrival into Spain was quite nice. We flew into the airport at Girona, just in time for a beautiful bright orange sunset. Unfortunately the arrival into Barcelona was not so glamorous. It was dark by the time my friends and I arrived, it was raining and from what I could tell the streets didn't look very nice, they looked dirty and graffitied.

But you should never judge a city just from seeing it for 10 mins from a taxi at night when you are tired from travelling!

The next day was very warm and sunny, and my hostel was just near Las Ramblas, where everything is colourful and there are heaps of people everywhere (well in summer when I was there, there was).

I spent about 3½ days here in total with my friends, the weather was mostly sunny and always warm. I think the best thing we did was to go on the hop on/hop off bus tour around the city, as none of us really knew where anything was - it was a great way to get a view of the city and for us to figure out what we wanted to see more of.

I would like to come back to Barcelona again. Especially if I were to get a chance to see FC Barcelona play at Camp Nou - it's on my list of places to go and watch a football game :D.

And if I am lucky enough to return to Spain again I would also like to explore more of the region around Barcelona, and maybe even a trip to the capital Madrid as well.
