Welcome to my Firenze (Florence) page!

I came to Firenze after spending a week in Rome, and stayed here for three nights. I had a mix of good and bad weather, I got caught and soaked in the rain once, but I had fun, so I didn't care.

Shopping on Ponte Vecchio

This was part of my first trip to Italy and I absolutely loved the Tuscan region. One day I had taken a train from Milan to Rome and the most noticeable change in scenery came when you went through Tuscany. The landscape became a lot greener, the hills were larger and I just spent most of my time staring out of the window of the train in awe.

Hmm... I loved it when the sun set over Firenze - it is a stunning sight. All the buildings become encased in a warm orange glow, and everything is picturesque (moreso than usual).

As I've noted below, one of the 'cons' of coming to Firenze is the amount of tourists and the amount of shops that cater to the tourist industry (souvenir shops).

But I think the beauty of the city and all it has to offer outweighs those cons. It is a city of stunning architecture, amazing landscapes, incredible shopping, great food, some of the best ice-cream in the world, excellent museums and art. The list just goes on and on!

We were at this restaurant 10 yrs ago and the "kids" now 22 and 25 want to return this year.

I was checking your restaurant tips and we actually walked past that restaurant you can't recall the name of. Unfortunately I didn't take note of it although we passed like a few times. I believe it begins with "Trattoria".
