Besides wanting to see the city of York, I also came to North Yorkshire to go on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. I could say that I wanted to come to the NYMR because of the history and beauty of the land (in a Wuthering Heights kind of way). But to be perfectly honest I'm a Harry Potter fan and wanted to go to Hogsmeade Station. I spent a day trippping up and down the railway - a perfect day for it too!

Scenery on the Moors

I have created three travelogues at the bottom of this page: Goathland, Grosmont and Pickering - all towns/stations on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Mostly they are pictures with a few short paragraphs - as I only spent a day on the NYMR I thought it was pointless to set up separate pages for each of them - especially when I really only have a couple of tips for all three places combined.
