    • The pretzel has become the symbol of Södertälje and you'll see pretzels of various sizes around town.

    The women of Södertälje used to sell pretzels to passing travellers and the town became famous throughout Sweden and Scandinavia for this.

    It's still an enduring symbol and you can still buy fresh pretzels but now the place is known more for being the home of a huge Scania factory than its doughy delights.
