Unfortunately I didn't get to see Bosnia apart from Sarajevo but I still wanted to say a few words about the country as a whole. The bits I did see were all from the bus from Zagreb and then again on the way to Dubrovnik.
For this reason alone though, I'd recommend making sure you go somewhere in northern Bosnia. The landscapes I saw have stayed with me. The beautiful valleys, river and mountains. And here or there, a building burnt out, or with a huge shell marked on its wall, as if someone had splashed paint over it with a giant paint brush.
A contested landscape; a palimpsest of war, cultural and religious difference; of hope?

Hmm. Mostar! Banja Luka! Medrogorje! I took the bus from Dubrovnik to Sarajevo and then from Sarajevo to Zagreb. Amazing!
