If you hear clapping or the sound of someone slapping a stack of papers against their hand, DON'T look at them, or you will find your hands being crammed full of pornographic ads for escort services and strip clubs! If you ignore them, they will not bother you, but if you acknowlegde them whatsoever, expect a handful of smut! Many Las Vegans have fought to have this type of solicitation banned, but to no avail thus far...

You know you have heard it before, "I just lost $100, I have to get it back!" as they head to the ATM... Here is a system that has never failed me yet... Allot yourself a reasonable amount of money that you CAN afford to part with incase you are having an off night. Let's say $50. As I play and begin to profit, the original $50 in chips go into my pocket. If I am having a bad night, and loose my allotment, I am done for the night. I only play off the profitted chips. I have never lost more than my $50 gambling allowance in a night, and usually win ;)

Some of what I am going to say may seem like common sense, but I find that some people lack in that area... 1. Keep your purse, wallet or fanny pack on you at all times. Do NOT sit it down anywhere. I usually carry a fanny pack, which is in your view and in your close personal space at all times. You would know if someone reached towards THAT area ;) 2. Keep a close eye on your chips at the tables. It would be very easy for someone to reach over and grab your chips while you are looking the other way, even for a moment. There are pros at this! 3. Don't flash around your winnings, and keep them low key. I personally do not carry chips in my hands, you risk dropping them or someone snatching them from your hands. I wouldn't brag about them either, you never know who may be in earshot... 4. If you win a large amount, ask the hotel if they offer safe deposit boxes. DO NOT leave large amounts of cash in your room! All is takes is one shady cleaning lady... Hope these help! Happy gambling and good luck!

Example: While at the Fremont Street Experience, we passed several what appeared to be severely drunk/high street urchins. A few minutes later one of the bums come running by with something in his fist... A bike cop came riding up, grabbed the guy by the back of his shirt and took him to the ground. Apparently the guy had drugs in his possession, as he fought with the police shouting, "It's just a sample!!!" Fremont is awesome, but observe common street smarts. There are some seedy characters over there. Keep your wallet/money/purse close and alert police if you see shady activity.

We all see the bicycle riding cops up and down the strip every day and night in Vegas, but have you actually ever seen them do anything other than smile at hot chics? I have... My friend and I were down on Fremont St. There was this one particularly foul smelling street person we happened to notice, made private comment and moved on. Approximately 15 minutes later, the self same vagrant came running for his life out of a side street. As he made it onto Fremont, and infront of hundreds of travellers, the bike cop grabbed the bum by his shirt and simultaneously jumped off the bike and got the guy into arrest position (face down, hands behind back). The bum was kicking his feet and attempting to punch the officer all the while keeping his fist held tightly and yelling "ITS JUST A SAMPLE MAN, IT'S JUST A SAMPLE!!!" Moral of tale: Watch your back downtown after dark, there are plenty of shady characters around. Keep your money close... You know something's up when the cop actually dismounts the bike...

prandall Tue Mar 20, 2007 15:24 UTC We tried to eat there on our way home and I have never met so many rude waitresses in my life. They were so busy but instead of the waitresses helping each others, some were just walking around and every time we asked they said that was not their table. | Dumpymotel Sun Oct 3, 2004 09:29 UTC Hehehhe..
