The hotel and it's rooms are beautifully appointed with marble floors and european decor. That being said, I was very disappointed in the service we received in the casino area. We sat at various slots for approximately 2 hours on a Friday night and did not receive one offer for a drink! At one point, we asked a waitress who replied "Oh, YOUR waitress will be right with you"... We ended up going across the street to buy our own drinks at the party store... We were also disappointed to find out they no longer have their Keno room. My husband's favorite casino game is Keno! (We ended up having to walk to Excalibur to find one! The service there was much better as well) On Sunday night after our wedding, the service was no better. I won $130 on the $10 Black Jack tables, was not offered any drinks again, seems like the wedding dress and tiara would have drawn atleast a little attention to me! We ate at the Cafe here. The food was pretty good (we got the fried appetizer platter and the seafood platter to share), although service was surprisingly slow at 2am on a Friday night (eventhough it was not crowded). We also had the opportunity to dine at Blackstone's Steak House. EXCELLENT. It is a tad pricey, but the meal was well worth it. Excellent and expedient service here! Best steaks we've probably ever had!
Unique Qualities: We got married in their very beautiful wedding chapel- we were VERY happy with our experience with the chapel. They even agreed to turn the air conditioning down in the chapel for our wedding (I have a health condition that causes me to be very cold)! They provided our flowers for us, the photographer was excellent, and the staff was warm and friendly. I'd definitely recommend them!

Monday morning I came into my office to discover a message on the machine. It was a client we had booked to stay at Westward Ho. He had asked us for the cheapest rate on the strip and was warned of it's ONE STAR status. He was calling to let us know that he checked out of the hotel in search of other accomodations. It has no ammenities of the other hotels. You get what you pay for...
Unique Qualities: Many locals hang out at the "Westward Whore" as it is called by my friend's living in Vegas. That part of town has some pretty seedy characters around after dark, so the casino area can be a little rough, and be sure to keep your chips and cash close. I have heard that the name of this casino is synonymous with the type of ladies that frequent this hotel as well.... I have heard that there are many plans in motion to improve Westward Ho, I'd like to see that happen...

My friend used to work for Gold Coast, it was his first dealing job! The last I was in Gold Coast, the casino area was almost completed, as the entire place has been renovated, including their 711 guest rooms! It really has the look and feel of an old western gambling hall, with the hospitality to go with it! They have an EXCELLENT breakfast buffet at Ports O' Call, as well as an in house Bowling Alley! Slots here were fairly loose, but I did loose some on their Black Jack tables :( Gold Coast is an excellent value, often $25 or more less per night than strip hotels. It's only a mile off the strip, across from Rio and Palms, and with the free shuttle, it's no problem to get around!
Unique Qualities: The Gold Coast also has a free shuttle bus that carries guests to and from its sister properties, the Barbary Coast on the Las Vegas Strip and The Orleans. -24-Hour Room Service -Fitness Center (for Registered Hotel Guests) -Free Valet Parking

Caesar's Palace was the first place I asked to go when I hit the ground for the first time in Vegas. Famous for hosting big name entertainment and professional boxing, Caesar's has appeared in several movies! Classic Roman statues and Emperial guards add to the feel of mytholigical Italy. The fountains leading to the casino entrance are absolutely stunning! Don't miss the free show featuring animatronic Gods and Godesses near the entrace to The Forum Shops, the inhouse mall! Caesar's Palace has 2,471 rooms, 18 restaurtants and 6 lounges and features over 100 retailers in the Forum Shops including Bebe and Georgio Armani! FEATURED ENTERTAIMENT: Celine Dion: A New Day $87.50-$150 per person www.ticketmaster.com for dates and tix Caesar's added a brand new amphitheatre in honor of Celine's show, and it is said to be the best show is Vegas!
Unique Qualities: Decor includes statues of naked guys and gals in full anatomical correctness! There are also some very good looking Roman soldiers roaming around the palace ;) In the Forum Shops, the sky changes colors! There are 2 free shows, one in the Magical Empire and one in the Forum shops!

prandall Tue Mar 20, 2007 15:24 UTC We tried to eat there on our way home and I have never met so many rude waitresses in my life. They were so busy but instead of the waitresses helping each others, some were just walking around and every time we asked they said that was not their table. | Dumpymotel Sun Oct 3, 2004 09:29 UTC Hehehhe..
