"Nature's Beauty and Friendly Folks" Cumberland by truesunn
Cumberland Travel Guide: 4 reviews and 3 photos
One of the prettiest landscape moments I have ever seen is the sun rising in the smoky mountains, filtering through the morning fog in the valleys. We used to go to KY/TN almost yearly as kids, to visit the old places with my grandparents, and to visit family still living "down home".
Cumberland Falls is a nice day trip. You can wade into the shallows there above the falls! You could also have a picnic!
Although I now cannot recall how to get there, nearby is "the Pinnacle" a lookout point you must walk about a mile uphill to get to. If you get up here, you won't regret it, the view is amazing, and you are looking out over TN, KY and VA all in one sweep!
- Pros:Beautiful Scenery, friendly southern hospitality
- Cons:ALOT of walking to get to the best look out points
- In a nutshell:Beautiful, laid back area of the country

Im sad to say Cujo's Cave is no longer open to the public. The road there is no more. They will open the cave later and to get to it you will have to hike about 8 miles or so. They want it back like it used to be when Daniel Boone came through.
