During the summer of 2004, turtles invaded Mackinac Island as part of the celebration of the formation the mackinac Island Community Foundation. Native American legend has it that a great turtle lent its back as a place for his friends to live and thus Mackinac Island was created.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Beautiful year round!
Cons:It's an island---after a while you get rock fever
