Damaraland - land of the changing landscapes and bizarre rock formations. Certainly an almost shocking, but welcome contrast to the desert just a few km away. This stretch of land does deserve some days allocated exclusively for exploration, but unfortunately time is always in short supply and I had to merely content myself with a one day drive through the Southern part of Damaraland to get to Etosha. But still, what I saw whilst driving was worthwhile, and another facet of the varied country that is Namibia.

By the way, not only is Damaraland beautiful for its natural heritage ... it's also interesting from an anthropological and historical point of view due the bushman painting sites in the area, the most notorious being those at Twyfelfontaine and the Brandberg.
- Pros:Stunning landscapes and geological formations
- Cons:Wish I had more time to spend here

It's great you have visited such unique places... Thanks for your page here.....
Good tips here! Did you know that the way the waterholes are engraved in the stone very much resembles the aboriginal engravings in australia? Corinne
The rock art looks very intriguing.
Nice, where are the Organ and the Toblerone here?
