    • I think this involves one of the shortest trails in the park. I was there in winter, in the snow so the trail was more difficult than in summer, but still quite enjoyable if you forget the slippery ice!

    The scene from the Tomasovsky lookout over the Honrad Canyons is quite memorable.

    • This trail is really worthwhile if you visit the Slovak Paradise park.

    This trail is not reccommended in winter because it takes too long and you cannot camp in the park. You have to plan a stopover at some village approx. half way through the trail. We did not know this when we started this hike which was supposed to take approx. 6hrs (and ended up taking us an additional 6hrs walk and a lucky overnight stay with 2 other tourists!). The snow and slippery ice really slow you down.

    Parts of the trail are composed of bridges, ladders and chains so be prepared for some action!

    In summer this is one of the most popular trails, but as we were there in winter we did not meet a single soul!

    • This is the largest and most beautiful lake in the High Tatras. There are a lot of things to do here, skiing, walking or having a drink in the nearby cafes. There are also some souvenir shops and shops which sell skiing and hiking equipment at very reasonable prices.

    • From the village of Tatranska Lomnica one can catch a cable car to the top of the High Tatras. This is really a must-see for every visitor to the High Tatras.

    The same cable car is actually used by skiers to get to the steepest and best slopes.

     Those hotels seem incredibly good value. We'll be visiting Slovakia in September. I don't expect Slovensky Raj to be as quiet then as it was for you in winter - it must have been great having it all to yourselves.
