While chaos reigns, major travel plans are on hold. Just PLANS are on hold ;-) Whatever I gamble on, it is going to be a wild ride, but I am not holding my breath ...

Anyway, up here is a photo of my last trip outside Finland, a nice long weekend in Riga and Sigulda (Latvia). And by the way, I am no Finn, Finland is just some stop of undefined length until the next hitch-hike move. I just moved here at the end of last year.

Midsummer is a big thing here in Finland ... it's not hard to figure out why considering the dark cold winters. Apparently, a crazy weekend in a cottage in the middle of nowhere would earn me culture brownie points - so off I went to the East of Finland. Who can say no to a long weekend of smoke sauna, drinking, good food, drinking, skinny dipping in the lake, drinking, nature, and did I mention drinking?! Anyway, I feel more of a Finn now after the summer cottage experience, even though my fishing trip yielded a couple of sorry little twigs. Better luck next time.

Finland is the place to be for lovers of dark and heavy music, and wherever there is something interesting I am there of course. Yep, I am a dark soul, metal chick, weirdo, call it what you want, I couldn't give a sh*t! Earlier in June I was in the Sauna Open Air Festival ....

More recently, I was at the 3-day Tuska (Pain) festival ... I even promoted it to my friends from back home and I did get some response and played hostess. We had a blast seeing all those bands that we have been fans of for ages!

And here I am with my other best friend, also in Tuska 2007... again near the beer stand ... hmmm, it calls us every now and then I guess :-)

Sometimes I also go to clubs to see some bands. This is a pic in Tavastia.
