Adelaide is situated approximately halfway up the eastern side of the Gulf of St. Vincent on the southern coast of Australia.
It used to go under the informal name of "The City of Churches". It may still do but more commonly it is referred to as "The Festival City". Its annual Arts Festival is of international renown.

A couple of pleasant days in Adelaide then, on the afternoon of the second day, we headed north along the highway to overnight at the small road junction town of Two Wells.
Then more northerley motoring on to my favourite 'jumping off' place.The interesting, large town of Port Augusta at the top of St. Vincent Gulf.
