"Esperance, Sth-west Western Australia." Esperance by australia2

Esperance Travel Guide: 46 reviews and 208 photos

French exploration influence.

The very attractive little sea-side village of Esperance sits tucked away in the bottom left hand corner of a road travel 'loop' in extreme South-west Western Australia.
Unfortunately it is too easy to miss it even though it is on National Highway ONE.
Perhaps that 'out of the normal way' aspect is part of its charm.

NOTE: Please take a kindly, tolerant look at my Esperance video clip. Taken on my '04 trip west to east via the centre adventure. I had enough material for two of medium length but decided to bundle it all into one rather long one.
The highlight is the town main street's Roof Guard Dog. Not seen anything like that before !! Fascinating.
It's a lovely location. I fell in love with it. Not sure about the noise of the wind farms though. My first experience. Even 'way out, up on the hills, they could give neighbours there a headache I imagine.

Original '95 trip: From Albany, we then headed north-west, back to Perth via 'A Fortunate Life' home and enchanting Wave Rock.
After a couple of more days in Perth we headed north to 'The Pinnacles National Park', near Cervantes.
The trip had now begun in real earnest! Western Australia 'leg' continuing.
Ahead, 'pauses' at Geraldton, Kalbarri, Monkey Mia, Carnarvon, Coral Bay/Exmouth, Dampier/Karratha, Port Hedland, Broome, Derby, Winjana Gorge/Tunnel Creek, Fitzroy Crossing/Geikie Gorge, Kununurra/Wyndham/Ord River Dam, (Lake Argyle)/Bungle Bungles/Argyle Diamond Mines over-flight, Hall's Creek/Victoria River Adventure Cruise.

Then goodbye and thanks to WA and eastward to Katherine in The Northern Territory.
Our 'Nullabor Nelly' chariot just keeps on going.

Many without much info yet. Sorry. :- (

(Building up with Esperance pics in time. Please be patient.)

But for now let's head north, a brief return to lovely Perth and then 'Hit the Road Jack'. Another 140 kms upwards, beyond Perth, and we find ourselves in the Nambung National Park - The Pinnacles. Near the little town of Cervantes.
