Near Q'land Border.
A doubly famous town.

One reason, the late Peter Allen's grandfather was said to be the song's "Tenterfield Saddler"
The other reason is in our political history.
VT member "iandsmith" has covered the town so brilliantly, that there is very little I could add. Visit his Tenterfield pages.
I don't know if Ian mentioned it, but I heard from the Q'ld side of the border that there is talk of straightening the border line in that neck of the woods and Tenterfield would become part of Q'ld. A bit of a drastic change! Probably just one of those perennial rumours.

    Hoping to get to tenterfield soon. Wasn't sure exactly wehre it was, so a map is useful.
