Frankly, Zhuhai is not a place where you can find numerous antiques or souvenirs. Local specialities are mostly sea products and fruit.
However, if you want to buy some general products, there are many options available. There are local shopping centres, like the Jiuzhou Cheng Shopping Centre, as well as some world-leading multinational supermarkets, like Carrefour in Zhuhai. There are also night markets and street markets in Zhuhai, especially in the Gongbei area.
First debuted in 1998, Zhuhai is the venue of the only official International Airshow in China - usually held in November.
There is also the Zhuhai International Circuit - the first formula-one circuit in China (race way 4.3 km long). The town is hoping to host Formula One Grand Prix car races here. It was selected as the second last stop of the 1999 Formula One, but this was eventually cancelled.)

I didn't know that the first formula-one circuit is located in Zhuhai. Generally, it seems to be an interesting city. Thanks for your short description.
I'll have to try the accuracy of your "spitting distance" tip next time I cross the border, but I must admit that I'm not a very accurate spitter.
