When I moved from New England to Seattle in 1999, I planned on staying less than a year. As someone born and raised on the east coast, I wanted to experience life on the west coast before returning home to settle down. Things never seem to go as planned, I surprised myself by falling in love with Seattle specifically and Washington in general. I only regret that things worked against me and I ended up moving away.
Now, we try to visit as regulary as possible...to catch up with old friends, revisit some favorite spots, and to show Gareth one of my favorite cities.
- Pros:Moderate weather, friendly laid-back people, mountain views
- Cons:Gray rainy weather, especially during the winter

Awesome page and guidelines.
Nice page and tips. Great overview of Seattle.
You are SO right about local Seattleites never carrying umbrellas. I'm with you on Queen Anne - if I ever moved back to Seattle (my former home town), this is where I would live. Great Seattle page - you really know what you're talking about!
You will have to come back to Seattle again soon. Anyone who frequents the Tractor Tavern obviously knows where to go. And I'll be using your suggestions next time I visit my sisters in Somerville.
I sympathize with you that you had to move away. But on the other hand I envy you off living there for a year or so. I was in Seattle a few days and get in love with it as well. In my opinion it is the best American city!
It is always nice to try new things! Super tips!
YOur page really makes me want to get back to the Northwest: good work.
Excellant presentation...superb pictures in most spaces...Full of relevant and useful information..Excellant narration and nice tips..
Sounds interesting - all those brewpubs - and underground tour, nice page!
