Bendokan and Actarus1 in Barcelona On Thursday 14th november 2003 Actarus1 came to my door to ask whether I wanted to go to a travel agent and we went... while sitting there we decided that a trip would be fun so we informed... We got a pretty decent price for Barcelona and were to fly off on saturday for 4 days and 3 nights... We went to the airport at 5 in the morning and took our plane towards Barca at 6.55. When we arrived at the airport we saw a bus that would take us directly to Paca de Catalunya which is at the Ramblas, the street where most tourists hang out. Our hotel wasn't that far away now and we went to it straight away. |

Our visits in Barca While in Barcelona, we told ourselves that we wanted to visit as much as possible. We started walking around and went to the harbor first. We went to see the Nautic club and had a good look around. Agfterwards we explored the pretty and cosy little streets of the old town of Barcelona. These are mainly small streets without ars driving through it and they are usually very cosy. At night we went to some bars. The next day we decided to go to the small streets again to see the Cathedral and the many Palaus. We also went to visit the Parc de la Ciutadella where we saw a statue of a Mammuth ??? Yep, we have no idea why it was there but it was and we took a picture of it. We walked by the Picasso Museum but got there 5 minutes late as it closes at 3pm on a sunday... We walked towards the Arc de Triomphe and went up the shopping street towards the Placa de la Catalunya again. While walking down the Ramblas we decided to stop by the Contemporary arts museum... an absolute must for art lovers... At night we went to some pubs again... The next day we spent on Montjuic, the sort of mountain that overlooks the city. And home of the Olympic stadium. We went there with a little metro that took us up the hill. We walked around passing by the Miro Institute (which was closed) and by the Museum of Catalunyan art. Went to see the Olympic Stadium and other Olympic buildings and then walked towards all the lookout points on the mountain. We were able to overlook the entire panorama of the city. Then we walked down towards the city again. At night, ... you guessed it we went to some pubs :-) For our last day we decided to go to the Sagrada Familia and other Gaudi works. We walked all the way from the Ramblas to the Sagrada familia and back... on our way back we stopped at the Placa de la Catalunya to have a drink and look at the people passing by... at night we went to the airport and took off... after having 4 wonderful days... | | |
