I visited julianehab, because at the time my dad was working on a cruiseship that went out of Hamburg , and visited the orkneys, shetlands, the faeroes, iceland, greenland and then to New York, on the other side, i think they billed as a "viking tour" of the north atlantic - but it was one of the best trips i have been on. The parts of Greenland itself that we visited are in the very south - the two ports were Nanortalik, and julianhab - nanortalik was too dangerous to use tenders ashore, so we moved over to Julianehab, the country itself was similar to the very northern tip of Norway, jagged mountains, no trees, and sort of deep iceberg punctuated fjords. Julianehab itself had danish style buildings, a church, museum and bakery and was raining a bit - but just the idea of its remoteness makes it kinda special. When i used to live a denmark a while ago you used to hear about it from time to time, but in australia greenland seems quite far away. Ship is the only real way to see Greenland unless you in the army or something, but the mountains and landscape are pretty amazing.

Greenland as well! Man you get around. Actually Greenland is one place that I would love to go to as well. So much time, not enough money!
