"Parkway to heaven" Mount Revelstoke National Park by mht_in_la

If you travel along Trans-Canada Highway from the west, say, Vancouver, to visit the Rockies, Mount Revelstoke will be the first National Park you see. Mount Revelstoke and Glacier NP actually don't belong to the Rocky Mountains. They belong to the Columbia Mountains of interior British Columbia.

The main attraction in Mount Revelstoke NP is the 26 km parkway that takes you to the top of Mount Revelstoke where you'll see heavenly alpine meadows. Too bad this was another missed opportunity for me. It was too early in the season (early June 2003), and the parkway was not completely open. I only got to drive up 18 km. Other trails such as Giant Cedars were closed too, so I only have a couple of pictures for you.
