I stayed in HI SLO a couple of times in the past. It's pretty standard HI stuff. $22 for a bed (non HI-member), shared bedroom (kind of crowded), and communal bath/kitchen. A few years ago they had a 2nd house a few blocks away which was not as crowded. I was lucky to stay there the first time. But now that 2nd house is gone. The attached photo was taken from HI's official website.
