    Getting TO/AROUND: The quickest (and the only?) way to reach the island is via the ferry Red Funnel. They operate on frequent basis between Portsmouth/Southhampton and Cowes. The fare in year 2000 was 10.5 pounds for a round trip ticket from Southampton. As far as I remember, the ports in Cowes for departure and arrival are far apart. Red Funnel can carry your cars too.
