Ko Chang a.k.a Elephant Island (Ko=Island, Chang=Elephant in Thai.) One of the bigger islands in Thailand 2nd to Phuket and larger than Ko Samui. In the east of Thailand around a 8 hour drive + 2 hour boat ride from Bangkok it is very accessable and just as beautiful as the Southern Islands of Thailand. Plenty available such as snorkelling, scuba diving with some beautiful reefs and marine life, jungle treks, waterfalls, elephant treks, and day or VISA trips to Cambodia. Ko Chang is a national park and is still quite unspoilt in most areas though it is developing fast due to its size and potential. cheaper than the South aswell for those on a budget.

There are a number of beaches and resorts along the west coast of the island the most famous being White Sands Beach and Kai Bae Beach.
