Nightlife Spot: Gullivers' Tavern
Living 2 minutes walk from Gulliers I found it good for a meal in the evening and a drink at night. It will show all western sports on the tvs and is a meeting place for westerners and backpackers who normally go there for a drink. It is also not sleezy which is quite hard to find at times in Bangkok.

Nightlife Spot: Q Bar
A more upmarket place where the richer young crowd of Bangkok will hang out. No sleeze, and is normally quite smartly dressed girls / guys. Paying in at the door when I was there was 500 baht per person which also gets you 2 free drinks at the bar. The prices at the bar are a lot more than most bars and I was paying 200baht for the cheapest whiskey and coke. It was 4000baht for a full bottle i think. Still managed to get get drunk somehow and had a great night. The music was hip-hop though it depends on which night you are there.

Nightlife Spot: Suan Lum Night Bazaar
Suan Lum (Lumpini) night bazaar is probably the most famous of the night bazaars in Bangkok. Because of this there are a lot of tourists turning up here and in turn the prices are going up. While it is a little more expensive than places like JJ (Chatuchak) weekend market, it is still worth a look. Some real cool shops here a bit trendier and cleaner than most night bazaars in BKK. Nice restaurants and bars in the area aswell so come here do your shopping for clothes and thai memorabilia and go get a decent meal or drink in the surrounding restaurants. Get here by using the MRT getting off at the Lumpini station or just get a taxi.

Nightlife Spot: Royal City Avenue (RCA)
Coming here we parked the car in the multistory carpark and went to look for some decent clubs. Route 66 looked to be the best so we made our way here. never been to a Route 66 bar before and it was actually quite decent. The drinks were cheap and the atmosphere was great. The music was hip-hop and there are two different rooms for East Coast and West Coast. We were also allowed to bring in bottles of wine. Had a great night here and spent not much at all and probably the best thing was there were not many Farang "westerners" and mostly Thai students.

Nightlife Spot: Khao San Road
Most visitors to Thailand will pass through Khao San Road at least once in there travels. Because of the cheap accomodation and trips leaving KSR it has become a haven for backpackers. There are many things to do because of this and is open all night. Cheap accomodation, street markets, night clubs with all types of music, sports bars, dodgy goods, restaurants etc etc. There is everything here for tourists. I have been here a few times but because it is not very Thai and more of a haven for Farang (Westerners) I try to stay away. The restaurants are real good here and cheap and the nightclub I went to was Lava which plays hip hop and is not bad. If you are passing through you will have a great time but if you want to try some more Thai places or proper Bangkok nightlife you will need to get away from KSR.
