  • Small place on Sukhumvit Soi 4. When staying in larger hotels for the price I paid here the larger hotels are normally run down and a bit ugly. Because the Woraburi is a smaller hotel it is in immacculate condition. The rooms are great and all facilites are well looked after and just as good as those in big hotels.

The roof top pool is great, the restaurant is great, room service is great, and the bar at the pool is great. I loved this place and is well worth the price and suitable for those who are on a budget. I came from the Ambassador Hotel which was twice the price and it did not begin to compare.

Other facilities include tour bookings, internet, pool table, and anything else you need.

Asia Hotel Bangkok: Perfectly Situated Hotel - BTS   Check Rates

  • Booking online will get you some discount and some freebies i.e. free BTS tickets for stays over 3 days etc.

This hotel is probably the best situated hotel for a stay in Bangkok. The reason for this is that it is directly linked with the BTS Rathatewi Station. The BTS is a must for travelling around Bangkok due to the traffic, and it's accessablity to all Bangkok's best areas and tourist spots (check out my Bangkok or BTS page).

Other than it's location which is probably the most important factor for a short stay in Bangkok but it is relatively cheap (around £20, 1400baht per night). The rooms you get are big with room service, free fruit basket, tv, aircon etc etc. The view from your is likely to be great where mine was showing the Bangkok skyline including the Baiyoke Skytower which I saw getting hit by lightning during 1 of Bangkoks many lightning storms. Decent bathroom with bath etc.

The hotel facilities are decent with massage parlours, 2 swimming pools, a gym and much more. A few decent restaurants chinese, vietnamese etc. We spent a lot of our time in the jacuzzi.

Unique Qualities: I have lived in Bangkok for 8 months of my life and in this time stayed in many apartments and hotels. Overall I find Asia Hotel to be the best overall because of its perfect location.

  • House by the Pond are serviced apartments on a side street leaving sukhumvit soi 22 and is decorated in a traditional bali style and makes u feel away from the madness in Bangkok streets. Real nice rooms and some real nice wildlife you may see out your windows such as large fish, lizards, and frogs which live in the pond the apartments are built around and squirrels and lizards in the trees.

Didn't see many facilites as described on the website but used all i needed high speed internet, exercise area, and the sun bathing deck, BBQ area and pool was perfect for relaxing(shown in photo). Also not many people around if you are wanting some peace.

Room comes with air conditioning, daily maid service, room service, washing service, phone, microwave, hot plate, mp3, cd, vcd player and television with UBC cable.

Unique Qualities: Not like any other hotel iv'e stayed in very relaxed and away from Bangkoks hustle and bustle.

Real friendly staff with some cute, flirtatious, and fun receptionists. I stayed for a month and really didn't want to leave.

  • Buri B&B's best feature is probably its location only a stones throw away from Thong Lo BTS skytrain station. It is also very reasonably priced costing between 350 baht to 500 baht a night (I paid 400 baht per night & 50 baht extra for my girlfriend to stay.)

The rooms are serviced every morning if you want, there is air conditioning, and a fridge filled with drinks (drinks are same price of the 7/11 so don't worry about high prices when taking them.) There is also a tv with some cable channels that can be linked to portable VCD players if you have 1.

The rooms look great made in a traditional thai style and are real clean as is the entire guesthouse. Another great feature of this guesthouse

They have shared bathrooms on each floor which were extremely clean and provide you with hair dryer, shampoo, soap, cold or hot drinking water etc. Shared between 8 rooms so noone ever gets in your way.

Other shared facilities include a bookshop, internet cafe washing machines everything a traveller really needs. Breakfast of tea / coffee and toast / butter / jam self service on each floor. No restaurant but I used local delivery services to my door like McDonalds, pizza express, seefah.

All this for 400 baht (6 pound sterling) was well worth it. Book before to make sure theres space and it can be quite hard to find the reception.

Only downside was the cable did'nt have ESPN so i had no football or sports.

Unique Qualities: Real close to the BTS skytrain. Close to good night-life street food and shopping malls.

  • Got probably the cheapest room in the place and all the shared amenities were there for me. Was still a lovely room with aircon and large bathroom and shower was really a great room for the price. Got the hi-fi and the UBC cable and big tv everything on remote. Room service was delish. The best part of this stay though was the amenities the swimming pool and gym were great and the view from the pool over Bangkoks main shopping district. Also just a short distance to the Phrom Pong BTS skytrain and The Emporium.

  • Baiyoke Skytower is the tallest building in Bangkok and you will probably see it at least once towering over the skyline. This is why a lot of people will stay at Baiyoke and honestly the same reason I did. It is really not worth the price in the end.

The bedroom and facilities were fairly standard, no better than the usual 1500baht room in most Bangkok hotels. The price I paid though was 3000baht per night which was far too expensive considering. The restaurants are mediocre and the bar on the top floor was terrible it was like a space theme it was laughable.

The only thing worth going to this hotel is for the view which is really quite amazing day or night. There is also a decent buffet in the restaurant for 400baht each so call in get a buffet meal and go check out the view cause theres no point in staying here.

  • I booked 3 nights in the Ambassador over Songkran. I had just arrived back from Malaysia so the girlfriend stayed over for the night before returning home the next day. I was charged an extra 600 baht for the night and the people were very rude.

After a meal at Fuji we returned to the hotel with our mate Am. We were only returning to get changed before going out that night but security wouldn't let us in till they had seen my girlfriends ID. They were also very rude to our mate Am (treated her like a hooker) and would not let her upstairs with us. I asked if she could even go up for 5 minutes to get changed but no luck. We had to pay another 600 baht so she was able to get changed in our room. This happened everytime we returned to the hotel so we had no choice but to stay away or the GF would sometimes sneak up the back entrance when visiting. Because of this I never got to use any of the facilities cause we were treated like dirt anytime we arrived.

The room was dodgy, the views were terrible the fridge did not work, the aircon in the bathroom was dripping from the roof and all round the hotel there was dripping aircons and stained floors beneath.

On leaving I was asked to pay 3 nights for my girlfriend who was booked in to stay only the 1 night. She started work again the day after we arrive back from Malaysia and had not stayed in the room. Because she had not told reception the morning after she stayed that she was leaving she was charged for 3 nights. I had only booked 1 night for her and paid up front but they continued to argue saying she had been seen in my room the next day (a blatant lie) and after 30 mins of arguing they finally give in.

I have honestly never been to a worse place in my life and I have stayed in probably over 20 hotels in Thailand. This place is a disgrace.

Unique Qualities: I can honestly not think of any. I did enjoy the all night bar but only because I knew we were leaving the next day.

  • Not a bad place a couple of minutes walk from the Thong Lo BTS skytrain station.
Cost around 5000 baht a month or 7000 baht if you stay for less than 6 months. I stayed for 3 months and paid £300 which is quite a bargain.

Decent studio with walk in closet, balcony, fridge, phone, air conditioning and decent bathroom. A bit dingey but what can you expect at this price.

Also room service is real cheap every morning i got chicken and basil with rice and fried egg for 35 baht, £0.50.

    Unique Qualities: Shared facilities are:
Internet cafe, laundry service, small store, and hair dressers all on downstairs floor.

  • I paid monthly for this apartment in Bangkok Sukhumvit Soi 3. I loved the apartment it had a gas cooker which was gret for me cause I cook a lot of Thai, it had tv + cable (incl sports channels), fridge / freezer, aircon (electricity, water, included in monthly price) all the things you need.

The shared facilities of the apartment were decent with a good pool, a large garden area with a small chip on putting green, and a tennis court.

The main asset it had was the location. Sukhumvit Soi 3 (Nana) is in the middle of the CBD and the apartment is close to a lot of necessary amenities, the most important being Nana BTS skytrain which is essential for easy travel around BKK. It is also a 2 minute walk from Gullivers which is a bar for travellers / westerners, and Foodland which is a good shopping mall for thai and western food. It is also above internet cafes and plenty of restaurants etc. I was paying 22000 baht (£300) a month which was similar to the other monthly paying apartments I had stayed in this area (Star Suites & House by the Pond) but pout of the 3 this was my preferred 1 due to location.

Staff and security are all friendly.

  • THE LARGEST HOTEL IN THE AREA AND BY FAR THE WORST. THIS IS THE 1ST TIME I HAVE WALKED OUT OF A HOTEL EARLY (WITH NO REFUND) THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE. I LIVE IN BANGKOK, I WORK FOR AN ATTA TOUR AND TRAVEL COMPANY AND HAVE INSPECTED AND STAYED IN OVER 30 HOTELS IN THAILAND. THIS HOTEL PREYS ON TOURISTS WHO DON'T KNOW THE VALUE OF THE BAHT OR WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A DECENT QUALITY HOTEL, PLEASE AVOID THIS WHERE POSSIBLE.

I had recently been inspecting hotels for my tour company and returning to the Ambassador made me realise how terrible it really is. A number of hotels I had inspected the day before (same price range) were much better quality and price. Some of these included The Mandarin, The Plaza, The Tawana Ramada.

The room service is around 3 times the price of any other hotel in the area and is low quality. For the price of 1 burger you can get nearly 3 super size Big Mac meals delivered to your door from McDonald's. They try to steal money from tourists at every chance they get.

Firstly my bathroom flooded soaking all my clothes. I later had to take these soaking clothes to a new hotel after they tried charging my girlfriend of 3 years 650bt to be on the property. I had paid for another night but refused to pay the 650bt for "the outsider" to call at the hotel and moved 2 mins down the road to Business Inn (600bt a night). This proved to be cheaper. My girlfriend had just finished an 8 hour shift and didn't need the gatoey manager (LADY BOY) calling her a whore to my face.

I can honestly not believe this hotel can be this bad, returning a 2nd time (Swiss Park was full) I thought it impossible to be worse than my 1st stay but amazingly it was worse, it really is unbelievable.

If you are forced to stay here book a non-smoking room. They will give you a room on the 7th (highest) floor where you avoid looking onto a building site. Booking the Swiss Park next door is a better option. If you don't need a pool & other amenities you can go to Business Inn for 1/3 of the price.

Unique Qualities: Almost everything is unique in the wrong way. No hotel in Thailand has the unique bad qualities that this hotel has it is honestly a joke.
