First impressions aren't always for ever! | The most famous skyline in the world |
I've visited New York several time, and for the first 4 or 5 visits, couldn't work out why everyone raved about the city. I seemed to be the only person who went there only when sent!
Then I visited in autumn 1996, and suddenly the city seemed to have changed! It wasn't dirty any more, I felt safe there, and I had a really good time!
So when my daughter (then aged 4) wanted to go there for our summer holiday (Yes, she had fixed ideas even at that age) off we went! That trip, her favourite place was FAO's and Central Park. |
|  | Summer 2002 During our epic tour of summer of 2002, we had 2 days in New York, before catching the QE2 home. Two days to show Mother in Law (aged 80 years) all the bits of New York she had seen on TV!
Yellow cabs, Tiffany's, Central park, Trump Tower, Statue of Liberty, Empire state building, and Wall Street.
We also went on a ferris wheel inside Toys'R us in Time Square. Granny's previous ferris wheel ride had been in Glasgow in 1939! |
So I am now a fan of the city, but I still think that the best view is from the harbour, sailing up the river, at first light! | | |

NYC does grow on a person (like a rash). Glad you've begun to appreciate all this great city has to offer. |
