| A cooling fountain on a hot day in August |
What a wonderful city! A week wasn't long enough to do it justice, and I can't wait to go back (but I'll have to !) |
| Ideal place to people watch |
| | The best bits Gosh, where do I start? All those wonderful buildings, everywhere you look, there is something eye catching. And the combination of the old and the less old, works well too.
I like too that it seems a small city, in that you can walk most places, (though the trams helped!), and all those green spaces breaking up the city.
The coffee houses where you can sit and watch the world go by, while enjoying a coffee or something a bit stronger, reading the newspaper, and just people watching. Oh yes, there are lots of opportunity for people watching! |
Music Ahh, the music. From the stars on the pavement, and the statues in the parks to the magnificent Musikverein and the opera house (don't miss the conducted tours of either of these musical 'Cathedrals')
But what is it with all these lifesize statues of horses, richly decorated? | | |

About the horses in Vienna: I was there at the same time and also saw the horses. The reason they were there is for sponsoring The Spanish Riding School - Lipizzaner | Imbi Wed Nov 26, 2003 09:09 UTC So much history and so much to see, I have been to Vienna three times but still have thirst of this city.
