Things To Do: The 'Eye'
  • Tip Rating:
  • The London Eye is a type of ferris wheel. You stand in the capsules as is slowly rotates allowing you (on days with good weather) fabulous views of the city. The trip takes about 20 minutes, and even those who suffer from vertigo have been heard to say it's not too bad!

    Buckingham Palace: Buckingham Palace
  • Tip Rating:
  • London Buckingham Palace
  • The Balcony at Buckingham Palace

  • Every visitor to London must visit HM queen's London pad, to gawp at the soldiers who look like wax they stand so upright and still. Changing of the Guard, a daily ritual, is fun to see, but get there early to be able to see anything on a sunny day in summer. It takes place at about 11.30 each day, though the show is better when HM Queen is in (Look out for the flag flying, that indicates she's home!).

You can now visit inside the palace, I've not done so, but my Mum liked it.

If you want to know where the gates have gone on this photo, see my page on Warrington!

St James's and The Mall: The Mall
  • Tip Rating:
  • A great road to walk and gaze along, admiring not only the Palace at the end, but the buildings either side of the road.

    Science Museum: The Science Museum
  • Tip Rating:
  • A fascinating place to spend many many hours, and generally free (except for entrance to special exhibitions). I would recommend the orientation tours which take about 45 minutes, but introduces you both to the museum and its history and to the collection. That way you can work out what to visit on your own.

Buckingham Palace: A Birds EYE view
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • London Buckingham Palace
  • Buckiingham Palace, from above

  • Buckingham palace can be seen from the front gates, but if you want to see more of it, you need to look from above, as here from the London Eye.

I bet Her Majesty didn't realise she would be so overlooked when they built the London Eye!
