Went there for a Bachelorette Party last summer. If not for that I'll betcha that I would never have. It was fun but in truth the music wasn't really my cup 'o tea.

  • Nightlife Spot: Prudential Center Skywalk

Went to a Gala/Auction at the Skywalk at the Top of the Hub recently. Unfortunately, I don't think it was the right venue for this sort of event. Between the items up for auctioning and all the guests, and the fact that the Skywalk is not a room but more like a walkway (thus the name!), it was too crowded! We ended up sitting on windowsill for most of our time there.

My friends stayed at the Hotel Commonwealth and it's just so beautiful there that we had to have a couple of drinks in the Great Bay restaurant and lounge. The setting was so beautiful that we had to come back for one more after going somewhere else for a bite to eat!

However.....I'd love to come back and try the seafood here.

I really like Audubon Circle. It's centrally located - just off Kenmore Square - the food is really tasty and the decor is modern, urban and they have those great large windows that can be opened in warm weather.

Went here after a Graduation Party as, apparently, the guest of honor has had a drink named after her here. I don't know how long Anthem has been around. Last I knew this place was a brewery where I never went either! Anyway, it's now a bar/dance place.

I'm not really a big fan of dance clubs. On the rare ocassion I go dancing it's usually at a Gay bar. The boys love me....what can I say?

Anyway, Club Cafe's a pretty big place. It's got a restaurant, bar and a couple of back rooms. We rented one recently for my best gay boy's 30th birthday party. The theme of it was "The Sound of Music". It was a good location for a party but the appetizers left some to be desired.... Whatever. We had fun!

My good friends go here a lot more than I do. Bamboa's got a Brazilian/Latin American theme, the bar's funky and dark and whenever I go there it's because my friends are there so, needless to say, I always enjoy the crowd! They have a fun Martini menu and run drink specials on certain nights.

  • Nightlife Spot: Fizz

Fizz is the lobby of the Copley Westin turned into an overpriced Champagne bar. It's fun because it's a hotel lobby so you can sit and watch people while sipping champagne. You can also order small plates of food and dessert.

It was also entertaining for us because our waitress was basically an accident waiting to happen. After she knocked a couple of the flutes over on the tray and on the table, and then popped one of the corks across the room (Look out, tourists!), I quickly drew my legs in toward the couch when she approached with the three coffee servings, two of which were veeery precariously teetering on her tray...

I'll probably never go back there but if I do, I'll wear a rain poncho.

This is one of the 3 bars in the lobby of The Lenox Hotel. It's dark, the music's not too loud and they have pretty extensive menu with plenty of fun Martini's. Oh, and it's nicely decorated - fun chandeliers!

Dress Code: Most of us got the Basil Gimlet Martini's because we'd tried them at the next bar over (in the same hotel), the City-Bar. These weren't as good - not sweet enough. However, the Mango Martini I followed it up with was very tasty. But how can you go wrong with Mango?

So that's what the title's all about. This is a cool, sleek and stylish spot in the South End with a fun Martini bar. They had several fun fruity drinks made with - get this - real fruit! I know I appreciate the taste of anything made with the real thing! I had a Cherry Crush that was good, a Watermelon Martini that was delicious and tasted my friend's Blueberry Basil Martini that was amazing! I know what I'll have next time...

The appetizers were fun and pretty original too. I was dissappointed that the Ceviche of the day was made with Scallops as I'm not crazy about them. I would much rather have preferred Tuna. I tried one of the Calamari that was really tasty as well and had some of the cheese platter.
