London. I love the place

by garridogal - last update: Jun 4, 2004

Some memories....

Isn't this a Dramatic shot?
I've taken 2 trips to London in my life. My first was while I was in college, in 1985, during a Holiday visit to my family who was living in Madrid at the time. I was young and mainly interested in partying with my friend and her family who were living there at the time, so we didn't really see that many sights. Plus, we were poor College Students so our funds were limited.

My second and last trip there was in 2000. I spent 10 days in this great city with a ex-neighbor/ex-friend. She was a Travel Agent - may still be for all I know. Problem was that let's just say she was kind of an Ugly American.

After scolding her about dealing with the Cultural differences (London's like a large Boston, crossed with some NYC - for God's sake!), I made the best of my time there. And that's because I find London to be such a awesome and complete city that these qualities helped me drown out the moaning...

I didn't own a digital camera in 2000 or 1985 (shocker, huh?) so I'm just going to the Ghetto thing and use pictures I can find "out there".
"Fantastic, babe..."

Sweetie Darling

I'm a huge fan of Ab Fab so one of my favorite things to do while in London was to find references to this show. Imagine my delight as our cab went by Harvey Nichols en route to our hotel.

I made it a point to visit Holland Park and thought of Patsy whenever I passed an "Odd Bins".

Cheers

The Parks

I just love all the parks in London. It's amazing that in the midst of such a bustling metropolis, you can find some gorgeous and well-tended escapes.
Gorgeous, huh?

Thanks, Joann. I will be sure to avoid the Trocadero and just enjoy the pubs.

Great London page. I've been living here over 3 years now and still haven't seen some of the place you mention!

Yes, that is a wonderful shot of the London Eye. One of the last things my father did before he died, was ride on that.
